Street Committee Meeting
March 17, 2026 - 12:30 p.m.
The meeting was called to order at 12:30 p.m.
Present were Scott Manchester, Assistant Director of Streets; Jim Bodenhamer, Carry Manuel, Susan Stockton and Jennifer Baker, Committee members; and Scott Liles, City Clerk.
The Street Report for February was reviewed.
Crews will get back to the Access Road to the Community Center after its completion. The cost to date is $378,142.95.
Scott reported there are seven weeks until completion of the Community Center. Beginning next week, crews will be working 10 hour days to get their work finished. Curbs have been poured on three parking lots, and paving will begin the first week of April. He hopes to be done by May 1. He said there is a lot of stuff going on out there. The total cost of the Community Center is $2,396,962.35.
At the Redbud and Windbrook Rebuild project, Redbud Street has been dug out and based in for hot mix. Scott said it looks much better. Paving will be done when they are finished at the Community Center. The cost of this rebuild project through February 28 is $776,714.57.
Maintenance for the month of February totaled $27,332.20. They are still working on crack sealing, sign maintenance, etc.
Scott told the Committee there wasn't much damage from last Sunday's storm. He said there were a few trees down that had to be moved out of the street at Cone Street and Leonard Drive. He said the traffic light box was replaced at 62 and Cardinal Drive.
Scott reported the Budget looks good.
